Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable an expansion type cover, preventing the scattering of chips and a coolant in time of machining a workpiece and so on, to be operated smoothly.
CONSTITUTION: Plural number of slide covers 22A, 23A, 24A... extending according to the movement of a working head in the Y direction are traveled as being supported of its upper part by rollers 23E, 24E... and guide shoes 23F, 24F. In addition, slide shoes 22J, 23J, 24J... installed in each lower part of these slide covers 22A, 23A, 24A... slides the guide palte installed vertically. Since the slide cover travels as supported of its upper part, the motion is smooth enough and, what is more, chips and suchlike are not gathered in a part guiding a lower part of the slide cover. Further a wiper 37 slides on a side face of the adjacent cover, whereby a coolant will in no case be leaked out of a joint part of the covers themselves.
