PURPOSE: To prevent veneer from damaging and buckling by a method wherein the veneer supporting surfaces of veneer transfer forks, which freely emerge and submerge and crosswise reciprocate to the carrying surface of carriage conveyor, are set to be higher at outside that at inside.
CONSTITUTION: On the top surface of a connecting piece 15, veneer transfer forks 17 and 17' are attached through a plurality of attaching fixtures 16 and 16', which are arranged to the longer direction of carriage conveyor 5 equipped with flanged rolls at arbitrary intervals so as to position between the interval of the carriage conveyor 5, to the same direction as that of the carriage conveyor 5 equipped with the flanged rolls. At this time, in order to give rigidity to weak veneer, the veneer supporting surfaces of the respective veneer transfer forks 17 and 17' are positioned to be higher at outside than at inside. Concretely, when the heights of the attaching fixtures 16 and 16' are same as each other, the thickness of the veneer transfer forks 17 and 17' are set to be thicker at outside than at inside. On the contrary, when the thickness of the veneer transfer forks 17 and 17', the positions of the veneer supporting surface are set by the heights of the attaching fixtures 16 and 16', with which the veneer transfer forks 17 and 17' are supported.
