Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a crucible having long life, capable of preventing the contamination of molten liquid and made of a laminate composed of a platinum inner layer having prescribed thickness and purity and a platinum outer layer containing oxide particles having a prescribed particle diameter. CONSTITUTION:The objective crucible is made of a laminate composed of a platinum inner layer having a thickness of >=0.1mm and a purity of >=99.5wt.% and an outer layer made of a platinum or a platinum-rhodium alloy containing 0.05-1wt.% of oxide particles having an average particle diameter of <=1mum. The oxide particle is preferably zirconia or yttria particle. Since the inner layer is made of platinum having a prescribed purity, the dissolution of impurities from the inner layer to the molten oxide liquid stored in the crucible can be prevented. The oxide particles contained in the outer layer prevent the recrystallization of the crystal particles of platinum or platinum-rhodium alloy constituting the outer layer. The outer layer has high strength at high temperature.
