Title:
CUBIC FUNCTION GENERATING CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3523095
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cubic function generating circuit that is operated at a low power supply voltage.
SOLUTION: The cubic function generating circuit produces a current proportional to the cube of an absolute temperature by using a voltage drop across a resistor R1, a base-emitter voltage of a transistor(TR) Q1 and a forward voltage drop of a diode D2. Since the voltage drop across the resistor R1 is set lower than the forward voltage drop of the diode D2, this cubic function generating circuit can be operated at a voltage lower than the case with a conventional cubic function generating circuit that produces a current proportional to the cube of an absolute temperature that utilizes three diodes.
