PURPOSE: To obtain a curable compsn. improved in storage stability by compounding an ethylenically or acetylenically unsatd. compd., a compd. having Si-bonded hydrogen atoms, and a hydrosilylation catalyst contg. a platinum- group metal.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrosilylation catalyst inhibited from reaction in the absence of oxygen is obtd. by charging a hydrosilylation catalyst prepd. by reacting hexachloroplatinic acid with Sym-tetramethyldivinylsiloxane, a platinum catalyst suppressant, and a solvent (e.g. toluene) into a reactor and adding an organosilicon compd. (e.g. triethoxysilane) purged with N2 to cause reaction. A required amt. of the above-prepd. hydrosilylation catalyst is mixed with at least one organosilicon compd. selected from among organohydrogensilanes, organohydrogendisiloxanes, organohydrogenopolysilanes, and organohydrogenpolysiloxanes to give a curable compsn. inhibited from curing in the absence of oxygen.
