PURPOSE: To move a cursor with a natural operation without requiring the keyboard operation or the like by detecting a touch at the time of touching a display screen with a finger or the like and checking the touch position and moving the cursor to this position.

CONSTITUTION: Display data to a display screen 10 is given by a computer 23, and a display device 21 is provided with a touch detecting part 211 besides the display screen 10. The touch detecting part 211 sends a touch signal 25 to the computer 23 when the display screen 10 is touched with a finger or the like. When an operator moves the cursor in a position A to a position B, it is sufficient if he touches the position B on the display screen 10 with his finger or the like. When the touch detecting part 211 detects this touch, the computer 23 compares the touch position with the current cursor position in response to this detection and displays the cursor in the position B and is operated to display data corresponding to this position B on a display area 16. Thus, a man-machine interface easy to use is obtained.
