Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition having excellent workability and cushioning property, by compounding a mixture of straight asphalt or blown asphalt, an aromatic oil, a mixed chip of a natural rubber and a synthetic rubber and a thermoplastic elastomer. CONSTITUTION:(A) A 1:0-2:1 mixture of a straight asphalt 60/80, 80/100 or blown asphalt 10/20, 20/30 is added with (B) an aromatic oil preferably containing 40-60% of an aromatic component and having a viscosity of 200-500cst and heated at 150-250 deg.C. (C) A thermoplastic elastomer is dissolved in the above mixture and then mixed with (D) a 1:1-3:1 mixed chip of a natural rubber and a synthetic rubber under agitation and heated (at 200-240 deg.C) for 4-6hr to obtain the objective asphalt composition having excellent cushioning property and useful in wide uses such as asphalt pavement, cement or concrete construction, etc.
