PURPOSE: To cut automatically a welding wire for multiple electrodes and to improve working efficiency by constituting a wire cutter of a cutter unit in which a cutter cuts successively the wire while retreating and an advancing and retreating unit which moves back and forth the cutter from the standby position to the cutting position.
CONSTITUTION: The constituting elements of a cutter unit 2 consists principally of a cutter 21, a holder 22, the 1st fluid pressure cylinder 23, a supporting base 24, a cam plate 25 and a tension coil spring 26. An advancing and retreating unit 3 connects oscillatably the base 24 of the unit 2 to a frame 4 of a welding machine body and consists of a link mechanism 31 and the 2nd fluid pressure cylinder 32. An oscillating and sliding lever 33 is provided to the mechanism 31 and is interlocked to the motion of the mechanism 31 to push out the holder 22 to the max. advance position. The operation timings of the cylinders 23, 32 are controlled by means of a relay, timer, limit switch, etc.
