PURPOSE: To easily grind radial clearance by pushing a grinder against the tip end of the fixed cutter, i.e., the surface forming a blade.
CONSTITUTION: The center of a grinder 12 is placed eccentrically for 30°W40° from the center of a cutter 10. Under this condition, the rotating grinder 12 moves straight in an X arrow direction, pressing against the tip end 11 of the cutter 10 to grind and form the second angle face (radial clearance) 14 in a circular arc shape, as shown by AWB. Next, after the eccentric adjusting of about 3°W5° is applied on the grinder 12, the grinder 12 moves straight in the arrow X' direction as it rotates, pressing against the tip end 11 of the said cutter 10 to grind and form the first angle face (radial clearance) 13 in a circular arc shape convexly toward the cutter center, as shown by CWD. Thus, a cutter is obtained in a required form.
