PURPOSE: To provide a highly safe cutting method of an adhesive tape roll, by which no damage is caused by friction by cutting the adhesive tape roll, for which an adhesive tape layer is formed on the outer periphery of a paper core layer, at different cutting angles of a cutting blade between the paper core layer and the adhesive tape layer.

CONSTITUTION: A cutting blade 4 is adjusted at a cutting angle of θ1 in relation to a roll surface 5 when an adhesive tape roll 3 is to be cut, and an adhesive tape layer 1 is thus cut. As the cutting blade 4 is tilted by 5° relative to a cutting surface 6, a relief of the cutting blade 4 at the time of cutting the adhesive tape layer 1 is prevented, and the adhesive tape layer 1 is cut perpendicular to the roll surface 5. The cutting angle of the cutting blade 4 is changed to a cutting angle of θ2 which is suitable to cutting of a paper core layer 2, at the same time as the cutting of the adhesive tape layer 1. Namely, the paper core layer 2 is cut perpendicular to the roll surface 5, while the cutting angles θ1, θ2 of the cutting blades 4 are changed in cases of the adhesive tape layer 1 and the paper core layer 2. The adhesive tape layer 1 and the paper core layer 2 can thus be cut perpendicular to the roll surface. Safe cutting is carried out without deviation.
