PURPOSE: To improve a cutting device for achieving high format variability while maintaining cutting estimation or the rapid traverse operation of a nipping system.

CONSTITUTION: In the cutting device of continuously supplied materials, carriage on a carrier face by a driven system is operated at the upper part and lower part of the carrier face, and sections cut from continuously supplied materials are deflected in a short time by a revolving breaking member extending across the whole width of the sections and decelerated. In this device, a first driving means 3 drives cyclic systems 11 and 13 to be operated independently of the processing machine in the front stage, and an independently controllable second driving means 4 is linked with non-cyclic systems 7, 8, 9, and 10.
