To provide a cutting device capable of cutting out an image recorded in a medium 170 without damaging the image.
This cutting device is provided with a carriage 130 reciprocally moving, a conveyance roller 140 for letting the medium 170 pass through a position opposing to the carriage 130, a cutter 250 moving between a cutting position moving together with the carriage 130 to cut the medium 170 by penetrating a tip into the medium 170 from a face marking an image and an evacuation position separated from the medium 170, and a pair of pressing parts 260 arranged in side parts on both sides of the cutter 250 and moving individually between an abutting position where they are abutted on the medium 170 and an evacuation position separated from the medium 170. When the cutter 250 cuts the medium 170 at the cutting position, the pressing parts 260 are at the abutting position. When the cutter 250 at the cutting position approaches an image, the pressing part 260 positioned on the same side as the image to the cutter 250 moves to the evacuation position.
