Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the optical fiber cutting device which is superior in the operability and reliability of optical fiber cutting.
CONSTITUTION: A lid plate 22 is closed and the optical fiber 2 is clamped with fixed clamps 3 and 4 and movable clamps 5 and 6; and a cutting blade 14 is moved at a right angle to the optical fiber 2 to flaw the optical fiber 2, and an operation body 27 is operated to intrude a fiber presser 28 into the optical fiber in the opposite direction to the flaw, thereby cutting the optical fiber 2. At the time of this intrusion cutting, a push-bending engagement member 26 is pushed and bent with an engagement part presser 30 and locked to the reverse surface of a lock member 16 and one cut optical fiber is held in a push-bent state with the push-bending engagement part 26. When the fiber presser 28 is returned upward, only the other cut optical fiber is elastically restored to prevent both the optical fibers which are cut and separated from flawing owing to a collision between both their cut surfaces by both being elastically restored.
