Abstract:

To provide a cutting method for improving the surface roughness of the cutting surface of a metal cutting with oil-film adhering water mist adapted corresponding to the environment changing with the times, and a cutting machine using it.

In the cutting using the oil-film adhering water mist supplied with a continuous spray of a constant pressure from a nozzle for the surface side having a rake angle of a cutting tool and the surface side having a relief angle of the cutting tool used for metal cutting, when the oil quantity contained the oil-film adhering water mist W0 generating the Rebinder effect on the surface side having the rake angle of the cutting tool is made to be C0, and the oil quantity contained in the oil-film adhering water mist W generating the lubrication action on the surface side having the relief angle of the cutting tool is made to be C, the oil quantity C for improving the surface roughness of the cutting tool forms C>C0. The oil-film adhering water mist W containing the oil quantity C satisfying the different condition every material of the workpiece is supplied with the constant volume to the surface side having the relief angle of the cutting tool using the spray speed of not less than the peripheral speed of the workpiece, the predetermined spray angle, and a discharge nozzle size.
