To provide a reliable cutting tool having a lifetime sensor circuit which is used for cutting a non-ferrous metal such as aluminum.

In the cutting tool 1 having the lifetime sensor circuit, at least one insulating coating layer 2 is provided on a surface of a conductive base material 3, and a circuit using a conductive hard layer 4 is formed thereon. At least one of the insulating coating layers 2 is a hard carbon film. In the Raman spectrum of the hard carbon film, the integrated intensity ratio R=(ID/IG) is ≤1.4, where IDdenotes the integrated intensity in a D band, and IGdenotes the integrated intensity in a G band.
