PURPOSE: To obtain a cutter section which is safe for transportation or usage and easily and simply out a thread which is difficult to be cut by scissors or the like by providing the cutter section installed at one side of a thread holding section, and cutting the thread when brought into contact with the protruded portion of the thread slipped into a slit.

CONSTITUTION: A cutting tool 2 has a thread holding section 8 formed with a valley-shaped groove 6 in which a thread 4 can be slid along the longitudinal direction. A slit 10 is formed on the bottom section of the groove 6 so that the thread 4 can be slipped into it. A cutter section 12 with a valley-shaped edge 12a is installed on one side of the thread holding section 8, and the thread holding section 8 is stuck to one face of the flat plate-shaped cutter section 12 via an adhesive 14. When the thread 4 is to be cut, the thread 4 is slid on the thread holding section 8, the thread 4 with the preset length is extracted, the mid-portion of the thread is slipped into the slit 10 or pressed to the bottom section of the groove 6, the longitudinal movement of the thread is restricted, and the thread is brought into contact with the cutter section 12 while being applied with tension. The thread 4 brought into contact with the cutter section 12 is easily cut.
