Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a cyclic-substituted imidazolyl-propenoic acid derivative useful for the treatment of hypertension and atheroclerosis.
CONSTITUTION: The compd. of the formula [R1 is a 1-8C alkyl or alkenyl optionally substitutable with a 3-6C cycloalkyl or 3-8C cycloalkyl; R2 is H, a halogen, OH, NO2, CN, CF3, OCF3, pentafluoroethyl, 1-6C alkyl or 6-10C aryl; (n) is 0 to 5; R3 is a 3-5C cycloalkyl; R4 is H, a 1-8C alkyl, phenyl; R5 and R6 are H, a halogen, CN, NO2, CF3, OH, OCF3, 1-6C alkyl or alkoxy; R7 is a 1-6C alkyl) and the salts thereof, such as 3-[2-n-butyl-4-chloro-1} (2'-(N- triphenylmethyl-terasol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl)methyl}-1H-imidazol-5-yl]2- cyclohexymethyl-2-propenoic acid methyl ester.
