Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a cycloid mass spectrometer and an ionizer for use therein.
SOLUTION: A plurality of ions of different mass-to-charge ratios are made to collide against a collector 12 at almost the same time. A processing device 16 determines the mass distribution of the ions colliding against the collector 12. A plurality of electric field plates 20, 22, 24, 26 are electrically insulated from one another and sealed in order to form an ion orbit space portion 4. The electric field plates 20, 22, 24, 26 assembled are placed inside a vacuum cover. A small ionizer 8 has a small filament.
