Abstract:
To shorten a warmup operation time by early raising a temperature of oil while making an engine compact in a size by integrating a cooling water return passage to a cylinder block.SOLUTION: A cooling water return passage 22 is integrally formed at a side of an exhaust side face 29 out of longitudinal both side faces of a cylinder block 1. Block-side oil fall passages 31, 32 are formed between a block jacket 6 and the cooling water return passage 22. An expansion part 33 expanded in a longitudinal direction of the cooling water return passage 22 is formed above the block-side oil fall passages 31, 32. Since the cooling water return passage 22 is arranged at the exhaust side face 29 side, the number of members can be reduced and a catalyst case can be shifted to the cylinder block 1, and an engine can be made compact in a size. Since oil is raised in a temperature by cooling water passing a cylinder head 2, a warmup operation time can be shortened.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
