To reduce partial heat deformation of a cylinder member 5 due to partial deformation or cooling water in connection of a cylinder head in an internal combustion engine, in which cylinder wall members 5 of a cylinder block 1 are integrally connected to each other between adjacent cylinders and a cooling water jacket 6 of the cylinder block is structured to surround the whole periphery, with a top view, of the integrally connected cylinder wall members, and further, a cooling water inlet chamber 7 is provided in one part of the cooling water jacket so as to widen the inner width dimension of the cooling water jacket.
In the outside surface of a cylinder wall member 5 on a cooled-water jacket 6 side, a part of a cooling water inlet chamber 7 is integrally formed with thick parts 9 and 9' so as to protrude into the cooling water inlet chamber.
