To provide a cylinder liner that suppresses infiltration of molten metal into an engaging gap between the cylinder liner and a bore core.
In the inner circumferential surface on the distal end side of a bore core 6 of the cylinder liner 5, there are formed in a scattered manner a plurality of recessed parts 10 that collect molten metal infiltrated from the distal end side into the engaging gap between the cylinder liner and the bore core 6. Consequently, since the infiltration of the molten metal into the engaging gap between the cylinder liner 5 and the bore core 6 is suppressed, galling into the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder liner 5 is inhibited. In addition, sticking of solidified metal onto the outer circumferential surface of the bore core 6 is inhibited, thus enabling the cylinder liner 5 to be smoothly inserted into the bore core 6 in the next casting.
