This damping force control device of a shock absorber with a motor arranged between sprung and unsprung mass of a vehicle as a driving source according to the present invention comprises a damping force switching means for switching a damping force generated by the shock absorber by driving of the motor when a control operation conditions is met, a total traveling distance detecting means for detecting a total traveling distance of the vehicle, a total driving amount deriving means for deriving a total driving amount of the motor for the total traveling distance, an index establishing means for calculating an index value indicating the relation between the total driving amount and a target total driving amount of the motor by deriving the target total driving amount of the motor in which a target is set according to the total traveling distance, and a control condition changing means for changing the control operation condition according to the index value.
