Abstract:
To provide a data edit method whereby processing when MPEG-2 transport data recorded on a disk are edited can be simplified.
In recording an MPEG-2 transport stream containing a video or audio signal onto a disk, a dummy transport packet such as null not subjected to data decoding expansion by a stream data decoder is recorded in 94 kbytes in the head of data. Thus, the alignment for sector borders and TS packet borders is simplified with respect to merging and edit processing of the MPEG-2 data recorded on the disk so as to reduce the number of disk access times.
