Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a data encoding device capable of making the capacity of an encoding table small.
CONSTITUTION: The (x) of a two-dimensional input value (x, y) is inputted to a conversion table 7 and a threshold value 8 and an address offset value 9 are obtained. At the time of the threshold value ≥y, the output of a comparator 10 becomes '1' and a code word 17 is obtained from a Huffman encoding table B16 by the output of an adder 14 at the time. At the time of the threshold value <y, the output of the comparator 10 becomes '0' and the code word 17 corresponding to the output of the adder 14 is obtained. Also, switches 18 and 24 capable of obtaining the code word 6 from the Huffman encoding table A5 by the (x-1) output 4 of a subtractor 3 first select and output the code word 6 and thereafter, the switch 24 selects and outputs the code word 17 as the output 21. Thus, a table capacity is made small and efficient use is made possible.
