Abstract:

To provide a data processing device capable of keeping searchability for report information containing device setting information in a PC and keeping browsability for the report information by printing.

In an MFP100 that can be connected with a USB memory 103, a text file 105 and markup file 104 for report information containing device setting information are generated, and their file names are generated using one of a plurality of patterns. Then, the name of a folder that stores the generated files is generated using one of the plurality of patterns, and the folder having the generated folder name is generated within the USB memory. The names of the text file and markup file are changed to the generated file names and stored in the folder within the USB memory.
