To provide a data processing device for effectively suppressing silence and noise generation, when transmission data are broken by external noise etc. in encrypting audio data transmission in which a synchronous signal is transmitted for packet as in a Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) system.
It is determined whether or not a synchronous signal which is periodically transmitted by packet is detected. When the signal is not detected, its number of cycles is counted. Thereby, depending on when it is detected after the synchronous signal is not detected, or when the number of cycles exceeds a certain value, processing of an audio data is branched. The audio data processing is performed so that silence may not be generated, when it is not detected in a short period of time, and it may be shifted to the silence without noise, when it is not detected for a long period of time.
