PURPOSE: To realize the real-time display of pictures based on the result of calculation with a data processor consisting of an input/output processor, a CPU, and a picture processor by adding a communication memory part, etc., to carry out a time division transfer process, a batch job, and a picture display process in parallel with each other.
CONSTITUTION: An input/output processor 2 performs in parallel the time division transfer of a register control instruction, etc., given from a disk 4, stores the result of the numeric calculation carried out by a batch job via a high-speed CPU 5 based on the register control instruction into a main storage 7, and displays pictures via a picture production processor 9 which receives the data directly from the storage 7 and performs the control in response to a processing speed different from the CPU 5 via a communication memory part 11. Based on these parallel processes, the pictures obtained from the result of calculation can be displayed in real time on a picture display terminal. Furthermore various simulations can be effectively carried out by controlling the calculation carried out by the CPU 5 in terms of time.
