To provide an audiovisual environment control system achieving illumination control for the optimal audiovisual environment in accordance with a switching technique of a screen used for switching video scenes.
The data transmission apparatus multiplexes segment breakpoint information which divides video data into segments comprised of one or more arbitrary numbers of frames, and indicates start time and/or intervals of the respective segments, and video switching method information which indicates a video switching method between the segments with the video data in the segment unit, and transmits the information. Meanwhile, a data reception apparatus comprises: a data separation part 32 for separating the segment breakpoint information and the switching method information from the video data; and an illumination control data generation part 35 for controlling illumination light of an illumination device 38 by using the segment breakpoint information and the switching method information. Thus, the illumination light of the audiovisual environment is properly controlled in accordance with the switching technique of the screen used for switching the video scenes.
