To provide a decorating method for a molded article, which enables a pattern excellent in hot/warm water resistance and fixability to be evenly transferred to a decorating surface of the molded article by using a hydraulic transfer method.
In a process provided in this decorating method for the molded article, a coating for forming a transfer ink fixing layer is applied to the decorating surface of the molded article, heated and dried up to a predetermined degree of drying, so that the transfer ink fixing layer can be formed; and after that, a printing pattern is hydraulically transferred and printed onto the transfer ink fixing layer from a transfer sheet, whereon the printing pattern is pre-drawn, by means of transfer ink. The decorating method is characterized in that the coating for forming the coating for forming the transfer ink fixing layer is heated and dried while the whole decorating surface of the molded article is kept at an almost uniform temperature.
