PURPOSE: To hold the humidity in a dehumidified room below target humidity without providing a humidity sensor when a dehumidifying element dehumidifies the inside of the dehumidified room.
CONSTITUTION: A humidity detector 11 which uses a resistance variation type element varying in electric resistance value with the humidity in air as the dehumidifying element 3 and detects the humidity of the air according to its resistance variation and a target humidity setter 13 where target humidity is set in advance are connected to a comparator 12, which outputs driving pulses for placing the drive circuit 4 of the dehumidifying element 3 in operation when the detected humidity is higher than the target humidity and stops outputting the driving pulses when the detected humidity decreases below the target humidity; and the comparator 12 and a driving pulse oscillator 5 which outputs driving pulses for placing the drive circuits at constant intervals of time are connected to the drive circuit 4 through an OR gate 6.
