To efficiently separate suspended particles in polluted water in a high separation ratio by providing an adsorbing tower receiving the supply of polluted water containing suspended particles from the lower part thereof, a screen conveyor receiving a fluid flowing out of the outlet of the adsorbing tower and the charged particle supply means connected to the lower part of the adsorbing tower.
Polluted water 2 containing suspended particles 3 is sent to an adsorbing tower 4 from a water storage container 1 by a pump while positive charge is applied to neutral particles 5a by a charged particle supply device 21 and the particles 5a are mixed with polluted water 2 as charged particles 5. Negatively charged suspended particles in the polluted water 2 are adsorbed on the charged particles 5 to facilitate the separation of the charged particles 5 from water. Next, the charged particles 5 are sent to a particle recovery tower 7 along with water and the separated water is discharged to a drain system 20. The neutral particles 5a are sent to a screen conveyor 9 along with water and water is separated from the neutral particles 5a to be allowed to pass through the conveyor 9 and the passed water is discharged to a drain system 20a. The neutral particles 5a remaining on the conveyor 9 are charged to a conveyor 10 and dried by a heater 11 to be charged into a fluidized bed 13.
