PURPOSE: To prevent the temp. of a rolled stock being lowered excessively by inclining the slit nozzle injecting the high pressure fluid arranged in the width direction of a rolled stock in the feeding direction of the rolled stock and providing a partition plate preventing the splash of the high pressure fluid by inclining it in the reverse direction to the slit nozzle at least as well.

CONSTITUTION: When a strip 15 is wound from a rear face mandrel 26 onto a front face mandrel 21, a frame 30 is descended by a cylinder 32, the strip 15 receives a bending action by a roller 31 and table roller 14 and a crack is caused on the scale adhered on the surface. Then, the strip 15 is transferred to the narrow zone surrounded by inlet side, outlet side partition plates 35, 36, a high pressure water is injected from a strip nozzle 34 and the scale is easily peeled off from the surface of the strip 15. At this time, the injected high pressure water does not hit excepting the narrow zone on the strip 15, hence the temp. of the strip 15 does not fall excessively and the rolling by a work roll 11 is smoothly executed.
