PURPOSE: To perform smooth and even descaling by projecting abrasives mixed with high pressure water by a specific ratio from multi-layer arranged flat spray nozzles at a specific angle and then picking a stainless steel plate.
CONSTITUTION: Abrasives discharged from abrasive nozzles 2 are projected with an impact force corresponding to a high pressure water flow mixed with a water volume being about 1.0W1.7 times as large as the volume of the abrasives onto a surface of a steel plate 4. The projection is such that flat spray nozzles 1 are set in a multi-layer arrangement, the projection angle is 60W90°, preferably 70W80° with about a 100kg/cm2 pressure, and projection regions 5 lap partly to each other. After a high pressure water projection, the steel plate 4 is pickled at room temperature. The plate 4 is descaled uniformly, so that a smooth and even plate surface is obtained.
