Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biopolymer composite cesium selective ion exchanger having excellent handling quality and a method for manufacturing the same which is simple and is good in reproducibility. SOLUTION: A cesium separating and recovering agent consisting of the biopolymer composite cesium selective ion exchanger is obtained by using a calcium alginate gel as a carrier and depositing an inorganic ion exchanger (excluding ammonium phosphomolybdate) thereon and the method for manufacturing the same is provided. Accordingly, the biopolymer composite cesium selective ion exchanger has the excellent handling quality and facilitates the separation of solid from liquid and is therefore usable for adsorption separation processes of both of a contact filtration method and a fixed phase adsorption method.
