A desk lamp 1 incorporates a timer 2 capable of turning on and off illumination at a set time and an alarm clock 3. When the desk lamp 1 of such arrangement is used as an ordinary luminaire, a switch 4 is used. And, when illumination is turned off or on at a predetermined time or when alarming is sounded at a predetermined time, the time of the corresponding timer is set.
