To provide a desk top plate extension tool that can be easily attached to a top plate, does not disturb general use of a classroom desk at elementary and junior high schools and the like, is safe, and has desired durability capable of being maintained.SOLUTION: A desk top plate extension tool comprises: a main extension part having a lateral width approximately equal to that of a long side of a top plate, a depth width whose degree is for extending the top plate's depth by a predetermined distance, and a thickness approximately equal to that of the top plate; and a pair of support parts attached to respective ends in the lateral width direction of the main extension part. A fitting groove capable of being fitted to a long edge part of the top plate is provided at a rear edge part positioned on the near side in the depth direction of the main extension part. Inside the support parts are provided a connection part capable of being connected to an end of the main extension part and an engaging groove that is disposed in parallel with the connection part and is engaged with a side edge part in the lateral width direction of the top plate. The fitting groove has a groove width approximately equal to the thickness of the top plate and a depth whose degree is for gripping the long edge part of the top plate. The engaging groove has a groove width approximately equal to the groove width of the fitting groove and a depth whose degree is for gripping the side edge part of the top plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
