Title:
DETECTING DEVICE FOR PITCHING AND ROLLING OF VESSEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59166804
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect a variation of pitching and rolling of the whole vessel by reflecting a mark put on the vessel by a camera installed at a part of a body separated from the vessel, and calculating an up-and-down displacement, a horizontal displacement and size of an image shape of a picture corresponding to the mark.

CONSTITUTION: A titled device is constituted of a passive reflector 3 fixed vertically to a hull of a freight vessel 2, and an image pickup camera 4 fixed to a quay wall 1. Each displacement based on a stationary position in case when a wave motion of the passive reflector attached to the hull, and pitching and rolling by a wind are not generated is denoted as (d), (l), (h) and θ as to left and right, horizontal, up and down, and rolling, respectively. When (x)-(y)-(z) coordinates are made by setting the edge part of the quay wall 1 as an original point, and shape coordinates of the hull are set as X, Y and Z, coordinates X', Y' and Z' in case of pitching and rolling are varied as X'= (X-D)cosθ-(2-H-sinθ+D+d, Y'=Y+l, and Z'=(Z-H)cosθ-(X-D)sinθ+H+h, when D and H denote horizontal dimensions of the passive reflector 3 and the camera 4, and height of the camera 4, respectively. A coordinate converting expression is led from this each displacement signal, and pitching and rolling by a wave motion of the vessel, a wind force, etc. can be displayed by three dimensions.
