To suppress the lowering of maximum image density and to enhance image quality by disposing a resin coating layer containing electrically conductive fine particles on the surface of a developer support and using a toner obtained by fusing resin particles in an aqueous medium.
Resin particles are fused in an aqueous medium to obtain the objective toner. Unlike the conventional comminution method toner this polymerization method toner has a uniform surface and ensures uniform electrostatic chargeability and a sharp distribution of the quantity of electric charges. Since fine powder liable to stick to a developer support and a developer regulating member is not contained, these are not contaminated and electrostatic chargeability is stably imparted over a long period of time.
