Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide two-component dry type developer carrier capable of giving high charge application function to silicone resin itself without impairing a strong preventive effect for spent state of a toner, and substantially requiring a small amount of a charge control agent to be added to the toner.
CONSTITUTION: Regarding a developer made of a carrier and a toner, the carrier is a coated carrier having core grains coated with silicone resin, and a silicone resin composition contains 1 to 15wt.% of the silicone compound expressed by the formula for the solid content of the silicone resin, and the toner contains 1 to 5wt.% of quaternary ammonium salt compound as a charge control agent. In the formula, R1 stands for an alkyl group having carbon atoms between 1 and 6, R2 for an alkyl or phenyl group having carbon atoms between 1 and 6, and A stands for -O-, -CH2CH2-. Furthermore, the value of (n) satisfies an inequality of 2≤n≤100, and (m) is equal to or less than 2 or 3.
