Title:
DEVELOPING DEVICE AND DEVELOPER CARTRIDGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3661740
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer cartridge high in reliability and capable of discriminating whether the cartridge is new or old without making a device large in scale even in the case that it is independently used and also it is used for supplying developer to plural developing units attached to a rotary device and to provide a developing device.
SOLUTION: One part of the developer recovery box 75 of the developer cartridge is provided with a transparent window 91 through which detection light (s1) outputted from a new cartridge detection means 60 is passed. Besides, the inside surface and the position opposed to the window 91 is provided with a detection light reflection member 92. Since the quantity of reflected light (s2) becomes equal to or over a prescribed threshold value when the recovered toner does not exist, it is decided that the developer cartridge is new. Since the quantity of the light (s2) becomes under the prescribed threshold value when the recovered toner exists, it is decided that the developer cartridge is not new.
