Abstract:
To provide a developing device that, even when a conveyance speed or fluidity of developer is changed, can reduce a range of change in bulk of the developer in a developer container, and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A developing device comprises: a developer container; a developer carrier; a first stirring and conveying member; and a second stirring and conveying member. The developer container has: a first partition wall that partitions a first conveying chamber and a second conveying chamber from each other along a longitudinal direction; a first communication unit that delivers developer from the first conveying chamber to the second conveying chamber; a second communication unit that delivers the developer from the second conveying chamber to the first conveying chamber; a developer supply port that supplies the developer; a developer discharge unit through which excess developer is discharged; a second partition wall that is arranged adjacent to a regulation unit of the second stirring and conveying member on a downstream side of the second conveying chamber and partitions the first conveying chamber and the regulation unit from each other; and a shielding unit that is connected with the first partition wall and the second partition wall in a bridging state and shields an upper part of the second communication unit. A gap is formed between an upper end part of the shielding unit and an inner surface of the developer container.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
