Abstract:
To remove foreign matter in a liquid developer on a developing belt in the case the liquid developer remaining on the developing belt after development contains the foreign matter, which causes an image defect when used for development as it is.
A cleaning blade 47 removes liquid developer 90 remaining on the developing belt 44 after a developing process, and puts the removed liquid developer 90 into a recovered-liquid tank 48, thereby recovering it. The recovered-liquid tank 48 once collects the recovered liquid developer 90 in it and allows foreign matter in the recovered liquid developer 90 to settle on the bottom of the recovered-liquid tank 48, and the foreign matter is removed form the liquid developer.
