Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a sharp image free from uneven streaks and fog, by keeping width of the brush bristles of an electrophotographic developing device not above a specified value, density of the bristles not below a specified value, and their length not above a specified value.
CONSTITUTION: In a device for developing an electrostatic latent image with a developing brush, width, density, and length of the bristles of the brush are kept ≤4 deniers, ≥30,000/square inches, preferably, ≥60,000/square inches, and ≤3mm, preferably, ≤1.5mm, respectively. As a result, an image fine in grain, high in developing density, and free from fog can be obtained, a developing agent does not scatter around, and superior development can be done.
