PURPOSE: Title device in which a trough holding a coating and a hopper with a slit beneath the trough are equipped in the substrate to be coated of body of revolution, thereby giving uniform and thin coating films.

CONSTITUTION: In a body of revolution to be coated 1 revolving on rolls 2, 3, through 4 holding coating 5 is provided in such ways that is has the same direction longitudinally as the one of revolving axis of the body of revolution and can freely revolve around the axis that has the same direction as the one of the revolving axis of the body of revolution. Beneath the trough is equipped hopper 6 with slit 4 that directs in the same direction as the longitudinal one of the trough and has an interval C that is controllable. Body of revolution 1 and trough 4 are made to revolve at certain speeds W1 and W2 respectively and hopper 6 tentatively receives coating 5 is trough 4 and then coating 5 is charged on the body of revolution in the direction of revolving axis through slit 7 controlling the amount by the interval C to form coating layer 8.
