Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform work for uniformly and efficiently coloring a filament body by attaching a spray means of coloring material to the inside of a cylindrical main body and spraying the coloring material to the space of the inside of this main body, and traveling the filament body through the inside of the main body filled with mists of the coloring material.

CONSTITUTION: Both end parts of a hollow cylindrical main body 11 are closed by thin plates. The through-hole parts having small diameter are provided, in the thin plates to pass a filament body 2 (e.g. optical fiber element wire). Furthermore, a plurality of fine spray holes are formed in straight line to a spray pipe 13. This spray pipe 13 is connected to the tip of a supply pipe 15 of coloring material. A plurality of pieces of supply pipes 15 are attached in the inside of the main body 11 by penetrating the thin plates. The coloring material is sprayed in the space of the inside of the main body 11 from the spray pipes 13. The space of the inside of the main body 11 is filled by the mists of the coloring material. Simultaneously, the filament body 2 is passed in the axial direction of the main body 11 and traveled. Thereby the mists of the coloring material are uniformly stuck on the surface of the filament body 2. The surface of the filament body 2 is uniformly coated with the coloring material.
