PURPOSE: To enable one man to carry out operation by moving a wedge-shaped adjuster forward or backward for a minute distance in the direction vertical to the axis of a wire rod, eliminating the need of preparing a large number of adjusting blocks and also enabling continuous adjustments.

CONSTITUTION: When a clearance between a fixed blade and movable blade becomes excessive by the cutting operation of a number of pieces, a holding bolt 13 and a clamp bolt 41 for the fixed blade are loosened, and a lock bolt 6 is also loosened. Then, an adjusting bolt 51 is turned, so that an adjuster 5 is drawn for a proper distance in the direction vertical to the axis of the wire rod. When the wedge-shaped adjuster 5 is pushed forward, a spacer 4 is slightly advanced in the axial direction. Upon advancing for a proper distance, the lock bolt 6 is tightened, stopping the rotation of the adjusting bolt 51 through a lock plate 7. The clamp bolt 41 and the holding bolt 13 are tightened, and the fixed blade 1 is fixed at a position where an adequate clearance is realized.
