Abstract:
PURPOSE:To highly reliably and highly accurately detect the position of an object by utilizing a transmission loss caused by a bend of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:When a commodity of coal, etc., is continuously unloaded in a pile at a prescribed location by a stacker and reaches the position of a probe 13, the probe 13 is pushed up along a supporting shaft member 11a. When the coal, etc., reaches a specific height, the upper surface of the probe 13 is engaged with the lower surface of a trapezoidal member 11 and an optical fiber cable 7 is wavily bent. As a result, the intensity of the light received by a light power meter is dropped and it can be detected that the coal, etc., is piled up to a specific position.
