To efficiently heat, dry and carbonize strained lees of citrus fruits via a heating cylinder by extensively and uniformly heating the heating cylinder by a burner, thereby reducing running cost and equipment cost and rapidly drying and carbonizing a large quantity of the strained lees of citrus fruits in a short time to dump.
A device for drying and carbonizing the strained lees of citrus fruits is provided with the hollow heating cylinder 1 horizontally disposed, the burner 2 which is joined to an end part of the heating cylinder 1 and heats the heating cylinder 1 from inside by injecting a combustion gas, a rotary cylinder 3 which is disposed outside the heating cylinder 1 so as to form a cylindrical drying transportation path 8 at an outer periphery of the heating cylinder 1 and fixes agitation blades for agitating the strained lees of citrus fruits supplied to the drying transportation path 8 at an inner surface thereof and a rotating driving mechanism for rotating the rotary cylinder 3. The drying and carbonizing device heats the strained lees of citrus fruits supplied to the drying transportation path 8 by bringing the lees into contact with the surface of the heating cylinder 1 while agitating by the agitation blades. The heated strained lees of citrus fruits are dried and carbonized and are discharged from the drying transportation path 8.
