Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain glass which enables the flexible adjustment of optical characteristics in particular by electrically controlling and driving specific plural systems in order to modulate the light transmission level and light diffusion level of the device in a way of not associating these levels with each other. SOLUTION: The one system having the variable transmittance/absorptance of an electrochromic or viologen type is combined particularly with the systems having the variable light diffusion of an optical valve or liquid crystals. The respective systems are electrically controlled and driven in order to modulate the light transmission level and light diffusion level in a way of not associating these levels with each other. For example, this device is provided with the glass. The liquid crystal system 2 is disposed above one of the both surfaces thereof with an adhering means 3 in the form of a double coated adhesive sheet embodying the adhesion by pressure in-between. The electrochromic system 4 of a type A is arranged on the other surface of the substrate by continuous deposition using cathode sputtering.
