PURPOSE: To enhance the productivity and make it possible to handle molding compound without cutting off the fiber reinforcing material and the like of the molding compound and disturbing the arrangement system and the like by a method wherein even flexible and hard-to-grasp molding compound can be easily chucked by piercing with chucks so as to automatically feed to a pressing device.

CONSTITUTION: Chucks 18 consisting of stainless steel wire, which is spiraled as a corkscrew for a wine bottle and has, for example, a diameter of from 2 to several millimeters, pierce through the chuck guide holes 29 of a keep plate 25, which abuts against sheets of molding compound 4, in the laminated sheets of the molding compound 4 by spirally rotating themselves. The chucks stop their piercing at the state that their tips protrude beyond the molding compound 4 by about one pitch. After that, vertical driving devices 13 are driven upwards and a conveying device is driven forwards so as to carry the molding compound above the bottom force of the mold of a pressing device. Next, the vertical driving devices 13 are driving downwards under the condition that a rotation driving device 22 rotationally drives the chucks 18 respectively in the direction of rotation opposite to the direction of rotation developed at their attachments to the molding compound so as to softly mount the molding compound 4 onto the bottom force with the keep plate 25 of a keep plate riving device 26. Finally, a charging arm is released by driving the conveying device backwards.
